Is This Healthy Weight Loss, And Other Suggestions?
I’m 21, and was 230 pounds about 2-3 weeks ago, I have been dieting since then and am at 225 now. I do a light to moderate amount of physical activity. Anyways, I’ve been consistently eating approx 1500-1700 calories daily for my weight loss. I am in college so it is often difficult to find healthy food, but I am eating mostly fruits and vegetables, tuna, and having lunch meat or bagel sandwitches and running 2-3 days a week.
So thats what I doing, could I be doing anything better, or am I doing something not as good as I should. Is that too little calories too eat for my size or can I reduce them even more. Should I be eating other types of food, vitamins, etc.
Just looking for some good general advice.

Does Obesity Cause Insulin Resistance Or Is It The Other Way Around?
Also, does metformin help to make you lose weight. I know its not a diet pill, but does getting your insulin back to normal really make that much of a difference, if you are eating healthier?

Why does america have such a high obesity rate when other places like europe doesnt?
Is Obesity Genetic And Other Questions?
I am sure everyone here knows of the health risks of obesity: heart disease, joint problems, etc.
Just looking for some explanations:
-If obesity is genetic, why are so many more Americans obese today than the previous generation? Shouldn’t the rates be the same if obesity is genetic?
-In this case do you think that obesity would better be controlled by lifestyle changes or by gene therapy? (or surgery)?
-Do you think that obese people will use “genetics” as an excuse to stay at an unhealthy weight because they can’t help it?
What Influence Has America Had On Obesity In Other Countries?
I am writing a research paper and my thesis is (basically) American fast food influence has caused obesity to sky rocket in other countries around the world instead of just confined here. Please, only post credible sources. Thank you.
